ISO Registration
Approximately one year ago, Fire-Dex, Inc. started the process of ISO 9001 registration. We are proud to announce that we received our registration, certified by QMI, with an effective date of November 9th, 2000. Enclosed is a copy of our certificate. Feel free to specify ISO registration in future bids.
Customer Survey
You will find a customer survey accompanying this newsletter. Please take a moment to fill this out and return it to Fire-Dex, Inc. at your earliest convenience. New Hood Offerings
Fire-Dex, Inc. has two new hoods to offer to expand our product line. The first is a Basofil/Nomex blend hood. The blend is 40%Basofil fiber and 60% Nomex fiber at approximately 6.5 oz. It’s a light weigth offering with the added protection of the Basofil fiber to "block heat better." We are also excited to offer Black PBI Gold Knit hoods. The hood will be an inner layer of 20%PBI/80%Rayon and the outer layer will be the Black PBI Gold Knit, which is a blend of 40%PBI/60%Kevlar. This blend also offers great protection and it’s readily available in Black. See the attached page for pricing scale on both of these hoods as well as PBI Gold knit hoods.
FireWriter Update
Fire-Dex’s Beta version #5 of FireWriter is currently being reviewed. We hope to have it released in the first quarter of 2001.
Literature Update
We are currently in the process of updating all our literature. The most important changes include the fabrics that Fire-Dex, Inc. offers and the various combinations available. The 2000 edition of our literature will be sent to you in the first quarter of 2001.
NFPA Update
Fire-Dex, Inc. is certified to NFPA 1971 Standard, 2000 edition, for structural fire fighting gear. We are finishing the certification process for NFPA 1976 Standard, 2000 edition, for proximity fire fighting gear. This project is scheduled for completion at the end of November. The next revisions for NFPA 1971and NFPA 1976 are scheduled for 2005. Fire-Dex, Inc. is also certified to NFPA 1999 Standard, 1997 edition, for emergency response clothing. The next revision for that standard is scheduled for 2002. We will keep you advised of any key proposed changes to the standards.
